But it wasn't.

I was told at work today (during my performance review) that I'm going to be "phased out" of work over the next few months, and that I should start looking for a new job. There's a lot of detail behind this, and I'll either post a private post about it, or interested parties can simply chat with me. But, I felt very surprised, a little taken aback, and even betrayed hurt. It was looking to be a hugely crappy day, and it wasn't even noon yet.

Later in the workday, [livejournal.com profile] fuzzface showed up. (He's going to be working at Looney Labs. This is part of the "lot of detail" bit.) Fuzz is a really intelligent, funny, and sweet guy. I'm glad I spent most of my day working with him.

I get home. Jacob calls me up to warn me that I'm going to be having a performance review and to tell me what he thought of the code I had written for SuperFRED (he liked it). I got to talk to him for a good amount about resumès and job hunting and just how I felt in general. I find it really easy to talk to Jacob. He's kinda my hero, in a way. A lot of what he has done is what I aspire to do.

Then, L. visits for a chunk of the evening, and we watch Buffy (I've never seen more than a dozen episodes, so I'm watching them all starting with season one). The we alternated making out and cuddling. My feelings for L. are growing. I'm very interested in seeing where they are going.

So, let that be a lesson to everyone: Liam is luckier than a leprechaun holding a the bigger half of a wishbone. A day which could have made me feel like absolute crap instead made me feel really good by the end of it. Don't mess with the Liam-luck, you'll lose.

Curious, but sort of nosy, question...

I know an L. in your area that has friends in common with you. It's possible that the L. I know and the L. you are talking about are the same person. My somewhat nosy curiosity wants to know if it is. If so, that would be neat. But it probably isn't.

Hey there, Liam. Sorry about the job loss; you know, part of what I do for a living is bid people on computer work. Yep, it's true. We should talk.

You want for us to put the job eyes out here in B-Burg? Send someone (most likely Nathan) a resume and we'll see what we can do to pass it around.

Say Hi to Fuzz for me...he going to be around on Thursday (tomorrow)?

Yeah, I still have Liam's resume, though about a year out of date.

Oh, good, I'm not the only Jake fanboi. Seroiusly, if I ever get married and have kids and try to juggle family and friends and work... my god, let me be him. Seriously.
