So, what's up with Liam?

A noticable amount is up with me. Right now, I'm at work.

At work? On this beautiful Saturday? I know you were doing a lot at work, but that's ridiculous.

Not so much. There's a lovely Farmer's market right outside the front door, where I just picked up some yummy strawberries. They also had some alpaca wool (on the order of $32, so I turned it down), fresh mozzerella (don't have a cooler to transport it in), and lots of jams and jellies and preserves. (Hey, [livejournal.com profile] uilos, will you have homemade preserves for Origins bread, or should I stock up?)

Well, that sounds nice. Does this mean you're just there for the market, and not actually working?

Not as such, no. I have lots of self-generated, internal projects at work which will help us all work better. I'm also working on something Evil, and if I come up with a working prototype I'll show it off here. But I'm not here today to work, I just drove down here and happened to find the Farmer's market. There was even a lady with a lovely fiddle that started playing a Schottisse, but I was the only person around who knew what that meant, let alone how to dance it. So I made a spectacle of myself.

Sounds neat. Wait, you drove? Whose car are you borrowing?

Mine, actually.

wtf?

Here's a picture. (Not actual car. Mine is black.)

WTF?!

Yeah, I finally bought a car that actually runs (as opposed to my first three, which didn't). It's brand-spanking new, still on its first tank of gas. It's a Toyota Matrix, with a 2-prong AC outlet (neat!), the best-designed air vents I've ever seen, and lots of internal kyootness. His name is Cayley (because, you know, Matrix).

Well, damn.

Yeah, I'm still getting used to the idea of car-ownership. But this is what I'll be driving to and from Origins, to work once a week, and to various social events. This means more socializing for me, both because I can get places, and because I can leave at a reasonable hour, rather than being hemmed in by night people. This also means more likelihood at visiting North Carolina.

But, now, I'm off again, as I drove to work to try and find my way here, and I only got lost three times for a total of 35 minutes. Now, I need to see if I can navigate the second leg, which is from work to bridge. There was no way I was going to attempt this drive for the first time during morning rush, and I'm glad I didn't. I'm off!

Yay new carness!! Matrices are cute and they are on my short list of cars I would consider buying when the time comes. Did the name play at all into your car buying choices? :> Wanna see at Origins!!

GoodgodYES I will be bringing jam!! I have tons and I'm looking to pass it on before I have to move it.

Seriously, how much do you want me to bring? I have four pints of strawberry (four more in the form of frozen strawberries, not yet made, but to be made soon, like, tomorrow), a pint or two of blueberry, and other odd half-pints of various other flavors in the jam cabinet. Yes, I do have enough jam stuff that it gets its own cabinet. :>

I'm planning on bringing the peanut butter again.... you know, the big "family friendly" tins.

So, you just bring the breadmaker Liam and hopefully we'll all remember how to work it so you're not the only one starting up bread.

Seriously, I'm greeter when I'm not crafter... I'll probably have plenty of time in my greeter shifts to start up the breadmaker. Leave good directions like you did last time, and I promise to start some batches whenever I can.

I'll not be at Origins (surprise, surprise), but if ever you feel inclined to send some blueberry my way, please don't hesitate to :)

Oh, well then I will send some with Liam to bring home to you.

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. (I'd also be unsurprised if there wasn't any left by the end of the con to send :) )

Nope. Will send a jar just for you and tell Liam to hide it away in his stuff. If it doesn't make it to you, you will know who ate it all.

Well, drat. Bring me one too, please. That raises the odds of a jar getting back to [livejournal.com profile] leiacat.

Will have to split the pint jar into two half-pint jars, but that is do-able with little effort. Was thinking of doing it anyway.

Yay!! Congrats. And if you got a car loan, that means you start building up your credit rating. It looks a lot like my first car, a Honda Civic hatchback (but mine was white).

Vroom Vroommm

Hey, I wanted to see it but you left at 10!!!!!! What's the good of having a car if you can't stay late and lose at Poker. Explain all mighty car driving one.

Making a fool of yourself when you're the only one around dancing and there's eminently danceable music playing is entirely normal and encouraged. Especially if it's live music. Live musicians love you to bits when that happens. Go, you.

Also, go your car, but you already knew that.

Yay Car!

And what could you possibly mean about night people keeping you hostage? ;-) It's not like that was done on purpose to inspire you to get a car. It was merely a side effect. :-)

Seriously, congratulations, i'm very happy for you. *hug*
